September 17: Isaiah 46-51

Isaiah 46-51

“Indeed, the Lord will comfort Zion … and her wilderness He will make like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord” (51:3). In Isaiah’s time, Israel and Judah were both disobedient, and Isaiah saw that the consequences of covenant-breaking would be terrible. But this was the story of the whole earth; no one was righteous. And so God promised a restored, comforted, beautiful “Zion” – not just Israel, but a limitless Kingdom of righteousness and peace.

This kingdom belongs to all who love God’s presence, to all who ask God in Christ to heal their brokenness.
