Philippians 1

“And I pray that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent …” (v9). As Paul sat in jail, his desire was that the Philippian believers become mature in Christ, developing wisdom along with love. Wise parental love isn’t just emotional; it provides healthy boundaries for the benefit of the child. Then the power of love produces beautiful results.

When our love for God and each other includes the ability to discern right from wrong, it transforms the world.
