Prov 13
"He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm" (v20). Anyone can read the Scriptures and figure out how to live wisely. The hard part is following through, daily choosing to guard our tongues (v3), work hard, listen to counsel (v10), etc. When we surround ourselves with men and women who are upright, pure, gentle, self-controlled, and lovers of God, it is far easier walk that path. It's difficult to choose well if our friends are gossips, or arrogant, or self-centered, or impure.
We cannot follow Christ alone; we are made for relationships.
