September 21: Jeremiah 50

Jeremiah 50

“In those days and at that time,” declares the LORD, “the sons of Israel will come … they will go along weeping as they go, and it will be the LORD their God they will seek” (50:4).  Even as Jeremiah pronounced judgment against many nations, he also envisioned a future time of repentance and hope.  God’s people were “lost sheep” (50:6), and He longed to bring them home.  He had no tolerance for sin, yet He would do everything possible to rescue them.

God waits for us to turn our faces in the direction of Zion (50:5), seeking His kingdom and nothing less.
