September 24: II Thessalonians 2-3

II Thessalonians 2-3

“So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which were you were taught” (2:15). The “activity of Satan” (2:9) is often to twist, poison, or disrupt the fellowship of believers and their faith in the truth. Paul warned the Thessalonians to beware of false teaching (v2), and to avoid those who “took pleasure in wickedness” (v12). Even within their community of faith, they were to “admonish” those who led an undisciplined life (3:6-15). We are always engaged in spiritual battles.

Being vigilant doesn’t mean being afraid. God is able to “continually grant you peace in every circumstance” (3:16).
