Judges 13-15
"Then the angel of the Lord appeared to the woman ..." (13:3). Many parts of Samson's story were echoed centuries later in the story of Jesus. Both were called to save their people. But Samson sinned immediately by marrying a Philistine woman and eating honey from a dead carcass (unclean). In a dark and wild time, God used Samson, but his life was a struggle against deep-rooted sin. Jesus appeared weak, but He conquered by the power of holiness and love.
We cannot save ourselves. Like Samson, our sin is deep-rooted. Only Christ can defeat our enemy and set us free.
