John 10:22-42

“How long will you keep us in suspense?  If you are the Christ, tell us plainly” (v24).  Some people have legitimate questions about faith and truth (9:36), and others use uncertainty to disguise hard resistance.  Jesus saw the hearts of these questioners, and he knew they had already decided to reject His authority.  “But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep” (v26).  They had seen His miracles and heard His teaching; they knew enough to make a choice. 

We can’t fool the Holy Spirit with false questions or smokescreens.  Our response to Jesus is life and death.
