Jeremiah 4-9

“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule on their own authority; and My people love it so! But what will you do at the end of it?” (5:31). God had special words of condemnation for the kings, prophets, and priests who led Israel into sin. They said “peace, peace,” when sin was producing disaster God (6:14). However, God also pointed out that the people loved this superficial, feel-good type of leadership.

False prophets and lying leaders are nothing new. No charismatic voice can lead us astray if our own hearts are fixed on God.
