Ruth 3-4
“For all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence” (3:11). Boaz was wealthy and important, and yet he was willing to marry Ruth, the young widow from Moab. She hadn’t produced children with her previous husband, and she had no connections except her equally poor mother-in-law Naomi. Yet Boaz saw her worth, and he saw that she honored God, “under whose wings you have come to seek refuge” (2:12).
People like Ruth, without wealth or status, are often ignored by the world. But God sees each of us, knows us by name, and loves us enough to redeem us.
