"O man greatly loved, fear not, peace be with you; be strong and of good courage” (10:19). The man with the face “like the appearance of lightning” (10:6) terrified Daniel, but his words were an encouragement and a preparation for the troubles to come. He described turbulent times of kings rising and falling and the persecution of God’s people. While many will be “seduced” by ungodly leaders, “the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action” (11:32).
We don’t have to fear, because God knows the future. In all circumstances, He calls us to be faithful witnesses, reflecting His light, shining “like the stars forever and forever” (12:3).
