“Now Obadiah feared the LORD greatly, and when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the LORD, Obadiah took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in a cave and fed them with bread and water” (v3-4). Obadiah was a devout man who managed the palace of the wicked Ahab. He stayed loyal to God while Ahab and Jezebel promoted idolatry, and Obadiah rescued a hundred prophets from them. Elijah felt alone (v22), but he wasn’t; he and Obadiah and others all were tested and proven faithful.
“As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand …” (v15). Like Obadiah and Elijah, even when we feel alone, God calls us to remain true to His heart and His ways.
