“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life” (v7). The psalmist lived in the real world, full of conflicts and struggles, just as we do, and he found God’s steadfast love and faithfulness to be everything he needed. He knew that the Creator of heaven and earth is concerned with humanity; God “regards the lowly” (v6). We are “the work of His hands” (v8), and He patiently fulfills His good purposes for us as we submit to Him (v8).
“On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased” (v3). God wants us to call on Him and receive strength and renewed purpose in the depths of our souls.
